Parco Paternò del Toscano is located on the slopes of Mount Etna, set atop an ancient lava flow that supports a unique blend of rare subtropical plants and Mediterranean woodland vegetation. To mark the park’s opening to the public, studio FM designed and developed a comprehensive wayfinding system to help visitors explore this extraordinary environment. A vibrant yellow was chosen for the signage to ensure high visibility within the park’s dense vegetation. The entire icon system is based on a modular grid, and its curves and interwoven forms evoke the organic growth patterns of plants.
